There was a man, who ventured into far off places,
Walked through lands of sand and snow,
Sailed through vast seas
But why he traveled, he never did know.
At times he gets lost,
But he’d eventually finds his way,
For this man was a nomad,
He had no place to stay.
He arrived to an island,
A place he once called home,
Found nothing had changed,
And decided that he would remain.
After having found a house,
He went to the nearest temple,
His spirit arose,
As he offered a prayer.
Lo he saw a very old friend,
A friend from yay high,
Not anymore a young lady,
But a woman.
The man tried speaking to her,
But he couldn't be heard,
For she was high in the balcony,
And he was down earth.
The man felt disappointed,
And wept as he went home,
For he really missed her,
As the world he roamed.
Seasons came,
And seasons passed,
The man lived his life,
Something he wished that would last.
'till one day,
The island's peace ended,
He and his fellowmen were prosecuted,
And every pagan was arrested.
For their beliefs,
They were hated,
The island sang,
"All of them be executed!”
The man was able to hide though,
He hid in a place far from his house,
But he hated it so,
To hide in cowardice as his fellowmen died.
As the months passed,
He met the lady,
They were in a luxurious room,
Up in the balcony.
They missed each other,
Since the man left,
They talked 'till their hearts' content,
But she had to bid him goodbye,
As she had to leave for another continent.
The man stayed on the island,
No sooner war broke out,
So he took arms,
For he knew there was no way out.
The war waged for years,
He fought as hard as he can,
But he wanted to see the lady for one last time,
Before he died on this land.
To his seniors he requested to travel,
To go to a continent afar,
His plea was granted,
Even though there was still a war.
He was transported through seas,
Through fields and cities,
He arrived in a town or village,
That was simple as can be.
There he searched for the woman,
For quite sometime he thought,
That the woman might not be there anymore,
But this thought of despair he fought.
He arrived at a lawn
Of a simple house,
As he climbed up the staircase,
His spirit was aroused.
He knocked on the door.
Looking for the lady,
It was her parents, who answered the door,
They welcomed him warmly.
When she came out their eyes met,
The man said, "Hello",
"It’s been so long", she replied,
But a few minutes later their anxieties died.
As they went down the staircase,
"You have a child", she confessed
"Since when", he asked with a smile
She just kept silent,
As they walk the last flights.
"Is it a boy or a girl",
He asked her,
Her eyes began to be teary,
"It’s a girl", she answered,
As she drew weary.
As they sat down,
She laid her head on his shoulder,
Still her eyes were with tears,
The man kissed her gently,
And lay his head on hers.
What was to happen?
What is to be?
Only the future has the answer,
Let’s just wait and see.
This tale was told,
From a dream of old,
Told to a generation-
So young and so bold.
But one thing I can answer,
One thing that is true,
The man was 'ME' and-
The lady was 'YOU'.
